*New* 2011 Croatto Obelisco Friulano Arrives!
Croatto wines are a joint-venture between Piero Croatto and Enzo Pontoni from Miani. The wines come from newly planted, ungrafted vineyards in the Grave DOC between Udine and Buttrio. The Friulano comes from Obelisco, the highest point of the hill in Buttorio. Enzo is in charge of all aspects of production from vineyard management to winemaking and his uncompromising approach to wine production is clearly demonstrated by the quality of this wine. Yields are extremely low, with minimal intervention in the cellar. The vines were planted over 10 years ago and 2011 marks the first release of this wine from Croatto.
We are delighted to have 2011 Friulano Obelisco Croatto in stock. A perfect partner to many of the richer autumnal ingredients now in season. Try it with butternut squash gnocchi and sage beurre noisette for a delicious October feast.
