Method & Production

Main botanicals: Juniper, rosemary, wormwood, iris and bay leaves.

The 'Berto' Gin is a London Dry Gin, with a classic Juniper profile and similar to Tanqueray in style. The grain spirit is infused with the main botanicals before a double distillation of the spirit in a pot still, which usually takes just under a week to complete this distillation. The idea for this gin came from Federico Ricatto, the artisan producer with whom the Jerry Thomas Project work. Federico wished to incorporate the classic juniper aromas of gin with a harmonic and elegant selection of other aromatic mediterranean plants such as rosemary, iris, wormwood and bay leaves. All the botanicals are grown in Italy.

Tasting notes

The beauty of the 'Berto' Gin is that it is both an excellent gin to introduce to the gin novice; with sweeter, more aromatic and floral notes to calm the intense flavours. Similarly, such an interesting flavour profile also satisfies the more expert enthusiasts, with intricate layers of complex botanicals in perfect balance. It boasts a lovely texture; lovely and smooth, which, along with the floral profile, manages to carry the high alcohol beautifully.

Perfect for a classic Gin & Tonic or Italian Negroni.
